So Others May Live: Accident Reports Analysed

$32.99

Why do aircraft crash? When aeroplanes crash we want to know why. What went wrong? Was it the pilot’s fault? Was it the weather? Was there a mechanical problem? Did an air traffic controller make a mistake? In this fascinating book, Jim Davis walks you through 50 aircraft accident reports. He invites you to join him in deciding when you would have said, “I don’t want to be a passenger in that aircraft.” At the end of each story, there are practical take-home safety tips.

Title Info

Jim Davis is a well-known aviation writer with a sense of humour. His writing is fun, easy to read, and highly enlightening. This is the first time these reports have been combined into one volume. Some have been published in Australian Flying and some in SA Flyer. They have helped to bring many pilots home safely.

Jim’s Accident Reports were voted to be the most popular articles in a 12-month reader survey conducted by Australian Flying. In the same survey, readers said they would like more of Jim Davis – both his Accident Reports and his Lessons From a Logbook series. The latter is also available on Kindle under the title Flying in Africa – Volumes 1 and 2. Jim’s excellent writing has helped keep many people alive. He is ‘that little voice’ that keeps us out of trouble.
